To ensure a safe environment for all of our authors and readers, MCTBF will be entirely virtual this year. Additionally, to make it easier for our local educators, the Festival will now be held during regular school hours, on Friday, October 16. This year's event is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services and Texas State Library and Archives Commission (LS-246193-OLS-20). (2020)
What You Can Expect:
- Chance to hear authors from a variety of backgrounds talk about their experience
- Panel discussions and a chance to ask your favorite YA authors questions
- Learn the latest news about Young Adult books
- Fun virtual workshops
Why Should I Bring My Students?
At the MCTBF, teens have the opportunity to meet YA authors they normally would not have the opportunity to meet, giving them the chance to build connections with other teens and authors. Authors will speak about their books and a variety of topics, increasing attendees’ cultural awareness.
