  2. Blood Drive 11:45 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

    August 25, 11:45 AM - 5:30 PM @ Library Community Room

    Help others in our community by donating blood! Participants age 16 and older are welcome to stop by the library to give blood with Carter Blood Care from 11:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome and registration is available for those who would like to schedule a specific time to give.

  3. "Scholars" Sculpture Dedication 10:30 a.m.

    August 27, 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM @ Library Courtyard

    Please join us as we accept the gracious gift of Seppo Aarnos' sculpture, "Scholars"! The sculpture will be installed on the west lawn of the library and the community is invited to join us for this unveiling event. Please see the schedule below for the day's events.     Like to read? Want to make new friends? Join us for Book Break– our monthly book club for adults to read a book, have some fun and meet new people. The group meets in the Library Board Room on the last Wednesday of the month at 1:00 p.m. All are welcome! Book of the month: The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks.   1. Toddler Time 10:00-10:30 a.m.

    August 26, 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM @ Polly's Room

    This 30 minute interactive program for Toddlers, 18 to 36 months, and their caregivers features stories, finger play, action rhymes and songs. Toddlers will be introduced to sounds, letter recognition and new words that will help them grow into pre-readers. After the program, toddlers and their caregivers are invited to stay and play with other attendees. Please call the Children’s Department at 817-427-6818 for more information.

  2. Chess Club 4:00-5:30 p.m.

    August 26, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM @ Community Room

    Chess Club meets every Tuesday from 4:00-5:30 p.m. in the Community Room. Hone your skills or learn the game from chess enthusiasts from ages 6 to 18. No registration necessary; just show up! Please call the Children’s Department at 817-427-6818 for more information.

  3. Sunset Story Time 7:00 - 7:30 p.m.

    August 26, 7:00 PM - 7:30 PM @ Polly's Room

    Sunset Story Time will feature the same stories, action rhymes and/or songs from the Wednesday morning story time, but at a later, more convenient time for working parents. This story time is designed to build early reading skills and will help turn young readers into lifelong book lovers. Call the Children's Department at 817-427-6818 for more information.

  4. SPECIAL Story Time 10:15 a.m.

    August 27, 10:15 AM - 10:30 AM @ Library Courtyard

    Young children, ages 3 to 6 years, are invited to join us for a special art themed story time in the courtyard of the library in celebration of the presentation of "Scholars" a sculpture by Seppo Aarnos. The story time will begin at 10:15 a.m. and will be followed by a short dedication ceremony. Children will be invited to create chalk art on the sidewalks around the library and refreshments will be served. Please call 817-427-6620 for more information.
